Blessed Are The Peacemakers

Matthew 5:9: Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Our world is filled with warring nations. Many in our own nation are trying to take away our freedom of worship. Our city is filled with conflicts. Our schools are often dangerous places. Our neighbors have trouble getting along. Family members are estranged from one another. Even churches and church members do not agree about many things. We all know lots of troublemakers. The problem is pride. Peacemakers are humble.

Proverbs 13:10: Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

James 4:6: But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

How often are you a troublemaker? How often am I? That is not the fruit of the Spirit and it is not caused by humility. Christians need to make certain that they are contending for the faith and not for the pride of life. We need to contend for the will of God instead of our own will.

Jude 1:3: Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

1 Corinthians 10:31: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
